Wandelgids 22 Pathfinder Guides More Lake District | Ordnance Survey

This second Lake District title includes a number of walks that are either on the periphery of or outside the boundaries of the national park. There are two main reasons for this: the first is to reduce some of the pressure on the more popular parts of the Lake District, and the second is to encourage walkers to visit other areas of Cumbria where there is so much superb, varied scenery.

Walkers have the opportunity to explore the atmospheric ruins of Shap Abbey and see St Bees Head, where the clifftops are home to nesting birds and give a grandstand view to Galloway, the Isle of Man and the distant Mourne Mountains.

Wandelkaart National 3 Peaks Challenge Map | Discovery Walking

Goede scheur- en watervaste wandelkaart.

National 3 Peaks Challenge Maps. Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon at 20k scale. Waterproof, tearproof and 100% recyclable 820mm by 420mm double sided map sheet.

Taking OS mapping at 50k scale we expand the mapping to produce 20k scale maps of the three challenge peaks, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. By expanding the OS mapping the features of names, roads, tracks and trails are more than doubled in size making them easier to read under Challenge conditions. We then add the Challenge Routes, specially highlighted to make them stand out against the OS map background information and add in additional information that will help your challenge.

Each map covers the region to show the access roads as well as the walking routes. Ben Nevis includes the Glen Nevis Information Centre starting point and Glen Nevis Youth Hostel starting point. Scafell Pike includes the Wasdale and Seathwaite Challenge Routes.

Snowdon includes the Pyg Track, Miners Track and Llamberis Challenge Routes. Each peak is a 420mm by 420mm OSlike map mounted on a double sided map sheet of 840mm by 420mm. The map designs are then printed on a 100 micron plastic substrate using UV cured inks on the UK's only press capable of using this latest technology.

The result is a lightweight map that is both waterproof and tearproof, and fully recyclable, that will survive anything your 3 Peaks Challenge can throw at it and afterwards will fold up like new.

Wandelgids Lake District High Level and Fell Walks | Cicerone

This guidebook collects the best 30 high fell walks in the Lake District. Every route is graded for difficulty and ranges between 7-23km, and includes annotated OS maps and variant routes. The walks are divided into 6 sections according to where walkers can start: the Keswick area, Borrowdale and Buttermere, the Western Valleys, Coniston and Langdale, Ambleside, Grasmere and Windermere, or Ullswater.

The walks combine Lakeland classics with lesser-known adventures. From classic horseshoes, such as the Newlands Round and the Fairfield Horseshoe, and traditional ascents of England's most iconic mountains, including its highest peaks Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn and Skiddaw, to routes onto some of the quieter summits including Gray Crag and Beda Fell, or quieter routes onto popular fells including Blencathra and Red Screes, the walks in this guide comprise all the best high-level fell walks to be had in England's largest, and beloved National Park.

Covering both rocky terrain and grassy hills, with occasional boggy ground, most of the paths are relatively easy-to-follow in clear conditions, but may require good navigational skills when the clouds roll in. The guidebook also includes information to enhance your walking, from historical, geological and wildlife detail, to advice on travelling to and around the Lake District, and how to best prepare for an excellent day out on the fells.

Reisgids PassePartout Lake District | Edicola
