Wandelkaart Topografische kaart 151 Explorer Cardiff, Bridgend | Ordnance Survey

These highly detailed maps show all the administrative boundaries, settlements as small as isolated farms, the road network down to unfenced roads and country tracks, and field boundaries (hedges and drystone walls) which make navigation across the countryside much easier. Steep gradients on roads are indicated. Various landmarks, e.g. powerlines, archaeological sites, windmills, churches and lighthouses are shown and additional graphics indicate natural terrain features such as cliffs, scree, mud and vegetation variations. The contour interval is 5 metres in the lower parts of the country and 10 metres in the uplands, and spot heights are marked. Each map covers an area of 30 x 20km (i.e. approx. 19 x 12 miles), with some double-sided maps covering more, as indicated in the individual descriptions. The maps are fully GPS compatible, with the National Grid shown at 1km intervals and latitude and longitude indicated by margin ticks at 1'.

The Explorer series has replaced the earlier, green-cover Pathfinder maps. The Explorer series is now complete and covers all of England, Wales & Scotland. Some sheets for popular areas like the National Parks are still branded as Outdoor Leisure (OL) maps, but are now included in this series as the cartography is the same as that in the Explorer Maps. The Explorer maps offer a substantial improvement on the Pathfinder series, with greater use of colour, larger area per map, and stronger emphasis on information for ramblers and tourists.

This series is ideal for walking and other outdoor pursuits and each map shows a large amount of information for ramblers and tourists. Public rights of way are shown (except in Scotland), together with other routes with public access: National Trails and Recreational Paths, permitted paths and bridleways, and selected cycle routes. Open access land created under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 is marked. Tourist information includes caravan and camp sites, Park & Ride locations, recreation/leisure/sport centres, museums, historic buildings, English Heritage and National Trust sites, rural pubs, etc. The map legend is in English only, except for the tourist information content which is also in French and German

Wandelkaart Topografische kaart 189 Explorer Hereford Ross on Wye | Ordnance Survey

Wandelkaart Topografische kaart 217 Explorer Long Mynd, Wenlock Edge | Ordnance Survey

Wandelkaart Topografische kaart 264 Explorer Vale of Clwyd, Dyffryn Clwyd | Ordnance Survey

Wandelgids Wales Coast Path Tenby Swansea | Aurum Press

2012 saw the opening of the entire Welsh coastline as an official long-distance footpath. Now, to complement its existing National Trail Guide to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which makes up the section of the Path from Fishguard to just beyond Tenby, Aurum publishes a completely new guide to the other most scenic and popular stretch of the Wales coast – the section eastwards from Tenby to Swansea.

Starting in the superbly picturesque tourism centre of Tenby itself, Chris Moss’s guide follows the coast through Laugharne, famous as the birthplace of Dylan Thomas, Pendine Sands, whose vast level beach was the historic venue for the early attempts on the world land-speed record by buccaneering drivers like Parry-Thomas and Sir Henry Segrave, before winding right round the beautiful Gower Peninsula – an extremely popular holiday destination – before taking in the Mumbles to end in the bustling city of Swansea.

With full route descriptions, OS 1:25,000 maps throughout, and dozens of stunning colour photographs, as well as a wealth of background history along the way, this new guide is the complete companion for both the seasoned walker and the weekend stroller.

Wandelgids Wales | Rother

Wandelingen in verschillende zwaarte weergegeven in rood/blauw/zwart.

Wandelgids 18 Pathfinder Guides Brecon Beacons | Ordnance Survey

28 fabulous country walks in the Becon Beacons National Park, graded by length and ranging from 3 to 10 miles.

All routes come with a clear, large-scale OS map, GPS waypoints and highlight where to park, good pubs and places of interest en route.

Within the boundaries of the Brecon Beacons National Park there are four separate mountain ranges, including the Black Mountains as well as the Beacons themselves. Most of the area is underlain by old red sandstone, which distinguishes it from the more rugged mountains of North Wales, and several walks explore this terrain of smooth, sweeping grassy uplands and wide, open vistas, including the Brecon Beacons Horseshoe. By extending some walks to the south of the mountains, in the valleys, vale and coast of Glamorgan (including Llantwit Major and the Heritage Coast), the scope of scenic and historic attractions is extended.

Fietskaart Celtic Trail (Lon Geltaido) | Sustrans

Wandelgids Lleyn Peninsula Coastal Path | Cicerone

Guidebook that describes a walkers’ route along the 95-mile coastal path that runs around the Lleyn Peninsula of north Wales from Caernarfon to Porthmadoc. Options for mountain and road bikes along the coastal path. Also includes circular walks and rides suitable for day excursions.

The western coastline of England and Wales has three peninsulas pushing out into the sea. The Cornish and Pembroke peninsulas have famous coast paths but the Lleyn peninsula of North Wales is less well known.

Although the Lleyn cannot match the sheer scale of its bigger brothers it has no trouble competing when the grandeur of scenery is compared.

The route connects the pilgrim sites leading to the remote island of Bardsey, dating back to the 6th century. In doing so its 95 miles cross a variety of landscapes from rocky cliffs to secluded bays. The nature of the landscape means that diversions inland have to be made, but although the route crosses hills and rises to over 1000ft in places the coast is always nearby.

The Lleyn has many tiny lanes and byways which allow cyclists to complete the route. Whilst many of the cliff paths are only for walkers cyclists can still sample the delights of this exquisite area and details of cycle routes are included.

Wegenkaart landkaart 503 Wales, The Midlands, Southwest zuidwest | Michelin
